1. Continue to work towards providing self-sustaining, high value conferences. This year our conference committee has been very proactive in pursuing high quality educational presentations that we hope will equip you and your programs for success. Throughout the planning process they have been mindful about planning a conference that is accesible, both in cost and distance, for every member in the state. While we tend to focus on educational opportunities, they are also mindful of the one thing everyone looks forward to and cites as the most beneficial part of conferences, the opportunity to meet face to face, network and learn from the experts we have in our midst, our own members. During our conference we are excited to roll out the new 2010 WSSDVS program excellence award that will recognize the most innovative programs in the state and awarding the top prize to the state's very best program.
2. Apply for non-profit status. As a board, we have decided that it is time to move forward with our 501c (3 or 6) application. We are currently pursuing a partnership with the Gonzaga Law program to provide us with expert advice and assistance as we move through this process.
3. Increase web resources. We look forward to using the AHVRP Toolkit as a model for creating a toolkit of resources within our own state.
4. Increase and support our membership. This year has started out with many challenges for our membership, with budget cuts, lay offs and reductions within our own hospitals. Given these challenges it is even more important that we support each other, share resources and help each other work more efficiently.
